In the lower right screen… you can see two plumes… one is dark.. one is white. The dark plume is coming from the regular caldera which normally erupts….. the white plume is coming from a new vent or caldera that is forming.

After watching Sakurajima Volcano erupt daily for months on end, today I noticed a NEW spot erupting smoke/steam on the back side of the mountain… this has now progressed into a full blown large venting — possibly the formation of a new caldera, or a second smaller cone.
